Thank you for the replies. Many of the concerns do not apply to us, as all applied PTFs were already applied permanently when I went on vacation and we always delay applying PTFs (included required *PERM applications) until IPL time.

I knew I had a link to that, but I also have a couple hundred bookmarks for IBM with very poor descriptions. I decided to go through them all to find the document above again. It pretty much is tailor made for exactly my scenario.
