There are some things that spit in the eye of adopted authority. IFS
operations are one. The sole use of adopted authority there is to get
access to a user profile so that you can swap profiles as per
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.5?topic=programs-example-using-profile-handles
However I would not suspect this sql statement to be one.

If, immediately prior to that sql statement, you try
values current_user into :myvar_current_user
and dsply myvar_current_user does it display the adopted authority user

Now I'm more confused.

I am running a program that is owned by a *SECOFR profile and adopts its
authority. I have checked both parts of that statement and they are
correct.

It is doing an SQL "select * from qsys2.object_privileges". When it runs,
it returns only my group profile. Does this SQL select statement not
utilize the adopted authority?

Subject: RE: No entry for *PUBLIC on library

I just found that same answer. To be clearer on it...

I only have *USE authority to the library so it only shows my profile /
group profile's authority to it and no others. I get the same result if I
have *CHANGE. However, if I have *ALL, I can see everything.

I guess I have never had just *USE to a library.

Simple.
CRTLIB DELETEME
CRTUSRPRF DUMMY PASSWORD(redacted)
GRTOBJAUT OBJ(DELETEME) OBJTYPE(*LIB) USER(DUMMY) AUT(*USE) Sign on as
dummy dummy cannot see *public. They can use the library but they cannot
see other such details.

Correction to this question.

Someone with *ALLOBJ just looked at the library and there are other
profiles / group profiles including *PUBLIC. Why can I only see my
profile group on this library and nothing else? If I look at other
libraries on the same system, I see profiles and groups other than
what I belong to.

I have a library that when I do option 5 to display the authority,
there is no entry for *PUBLIC. The authorization list is *NONE. I
have never seen an object without any entry for *PUBLIC. Does this
mean it is *PUBLIC *EXCLUDE or what is the authority for *PUBLIC?
