Hi all,

Thank you all of you very smart people in replying to this topic. I learned a lot and have come to a better understanding of PL-SQL and its differences with SQLRPGLE. So have some of you judging your responses. This is what this mailinglist is all about for me, learning things and being able to help others every now and then.

I think IBM has in essence described pretty well what the IF-statement does with respect to SqlState, however for me a non-native speaker/reader it was still be a bit puzzling. And, as some of you already agreed, the result of the example looks very counterintuitive.

I supplied IBM my example code and asked for an improvement of the description of SqlState behaviour around IF-statements via the Ideas portal
