Jim,

Presuming a 132 length SCS splf:

I use something like:

CRTPF FILE(DRTEMP/SPLF1) RCDLEN(133)

CPYSPLF FILE(PRINTERF) TOFILE(drtemp/splf1) SPLNBR(*LAST)
JOBSYSNAME(*CURRENT) MBROPT(*ADD) CTLCHAR(*FCFC)

OVRPRTF FILE(QSYSPRT) DEVTYPE(*AFPDS) CTLCHAR(*FCFC) OUTQ(DR2OUTQ)
TOSTMF('/home/drima/pdf1.pdf') WSCST(*PDF)

cpyf drtemp/splf1 qsysprt

This gives a .pdf, but I would think that a .txt would be an option
somewhere even if it meant writing your own quickie RPG to do the
printer spacing based on the first bytes printer control character...

We have a monthly task where we need to download about 20 spool files to individual text documents. Really easy with ACS, except it's manual. We know the user, and spool queue and of course the date we need.

I could email an archive file from the system if I can get them all into the archive. Various topics surrounding this topic have gone on in the list , but not one that actually hits his use case (Sorry Brad I know you can do this but they won't pop for the small amount each year)

Thoughts on the process?
