Hello,

I'm faced with a Power 7 machine, housing a VIOS 2.2 install, and a single IBM i LPAR. Single machine, single VIOS, all local storage.

The storage area for housing installation images was deliberately put on a single disk, because those images were easily replaceable.

Of course, Murphy was there, and the disk failed. Someone else meanwhile exchanged the disk, and now I want to rebuild the storage area (voptvg, with accompanying LV) for images.

I'm stuck in a loop:
- Some Google search results hinted that a VG can be deleted by removing all PVs from it
- Removing the PV is refused because the VG needs to be varied on
- Can't vary on the VG, because the PV is no more

Albeit I have some basic skills regarding Linux LVM, AIX LVM is different in the details so I'm somewhat lost how to fix all remaining errors to have the attention LED of the machine stay off.

Hints are well appreciated!

:wq! PoC
