Hi Richard:
Yes, in Fresche X-Analysis, the "Manage Linked Repositories" feature is intended to allow cross-application searching by linking multiple repositories. However, if objects from all three repositories are not appearing in searches, here are a few things to check:
1. Verify Repository Linkage
- Go to Manage Linked Repositories and ensure that all three repositories are properly linked.
- Check that the repositories are active and correctly associated.
2. Refresh the Repository
- Sometimes, after linking repositories, you may need to refresh the metadata. Try re-indexing or refreshing the repository to ensure all linked objects are accessible.
3. Search Scope Settings
- Ensure that the search settings in X-Analysis are set to include all linked repositories.
- Some versions require explicit selection of linked repositories when performing a search.
4. Repository Synchronization
- If the repositories were created at different times or have different configurations, they may need synchronization.
- Check for any version mismatches or metadata inconsistencies.
5. Permissions and Access
- Ensure that your user profile has the correct authority to access all repositories.
- Some searches may be restricted based on security settings.
If after verifying these steps the issue persists, it may be beneficial to check Fresche's documentation or reach out to their support team for troubleshooting. The link for user documentation is X-Analysis_User_Manual_11.1.pdf

I'm not an expert on X-Anlysis, but I've used it.
I've never tried linking two applications together. What I did is
created a 3rd Repository with Both apps to search across them.
If you add new libraries to an application library list, it's been my
experience that you have to re-initialize and rebuild the repository.

Hi All,
Couple questions:
1. I using XAnalysis at a customer site and we have 3 different applications with different library lists.
I linked two of them to the third repository via the "Manage Linked Repositories" option.
Is the "Manage Linked Repositories" option supposed to allow me to link an existing application and its objects to my current one so I can search across all 3 form my main one ?
It doesn't appear that objects from all 3 repositories show up when searching the main one.
2. If I add new libraries to an application library list do I have have to re-initialize the entire repository/application with the XAXREF command or can I just run the refresh option with XREFRESH to pick up the objects from the new libraries ?
Input appreciated.
And of course I will reach out to Fresche support if needed, but wanted to ask here first to see if anyone knew the short answer.
Thanks
Regards,
Richard Schoen
