Direct Link is useful, but when using public egress retrival I guess DL
could be more expensive than the Object Storage cost itself. You can
also use VPN to reach your Private or Direct endpoint, with a lower cost
than the Public one.
But as an example: If you have a 5% restores every month (backup TB vs
restore TB), with a small-to-medium storage space (let say less than
10TB), we can talk about ~20USD to 30USD per month per TB, with public
egress.
If the amount of retrieval requests and/or the amount of TB you retrieve
is larger, you can use a fixed pricing model per/TB. In that case I
suggest to talk with your IBM Cloud representative, or you can contact
me in private.
