Nice - I just reported the first thing I found doing a search in the PDF for *updatable*.

So using a function on the column, is that the condition or technique that the manual says makes the view not writable or updatable? (And what about not deletable? I wonder if Fulvio wants to block that, also, using a view.)

I did not look up anything about INSTEAD OF triggers, that should also
