Depending on what terminal (or emulator) you are using, you might be able to get column-seps on a nondisplay field to work. It's been a while, but I think that when column separator suppression was made an option in the InfoWindow II series, nondisplay fields with column seps were made a specific exception: even if you have column seps turned off, they still display for attribute bytes x'37' and x'3F.'

Of course, TN5250J, while it does allow column separator suppression, it *doesn't* do it in accordance with the InfoWindow II standard.

No idea what IBM's emulator does with this; I just know that MY emulator was designed to treat a *real* 3487 as the gold standard. And I *think* WRQ Reflection (anybody else remember that one?) did the same.
