Don, I believe we saw a post here that AI assist may come to RDi. I won't say more, maybe I was dreaming.

I don't agree that RDi is not up to the task for DSPF objects - yes, it does not do menus as a whole the way SDA does, but it is really good, in my experience, for regular DSPFs. As a hint, I find it extremely helpful to have the Properties window open when working on DSPFs - when you click on anything, especially fields, all the properties are listed AND editable - when I change it in the Properties, it is changed in the source. And the difference is visible immediately.

I am glad there are options in that area, however, from vendor products to UIM menus.

Would enjoy the opportunity to demo Admin/400 (Admin4i) menus as a
replacement for *MENU objects.

Subject: Re: She (SDA/RLU 7.6) loves me she loves me not

Thanks everyone (a long list...) for enlightening responses

I surely mourn the (not so early) demise of SDA/RLU 7.6 Larry (DrFranken)
has looked for it in a 7.6 partition and nada - it's gone.

upgrade to 7.6 will certainly be postponed for several reasons:

a. Lots of old code (with its green screens & spool files to PDF)
maintenance is still required.
hell, we even occasionally use an old S/36 application .
b. I'm not sure RDi is up to the task (especially Menus), c. Since AI
assist is apparently a VS Code only operation, I tend to think that that
RDi is
on the same path of SDA
d. That's why when my boss suggested two month ago to drop maintenance for
RDi licenses
I said sure, the future is VS Code anyway. )-:

So I guess 7.6 will wait until VS Code / Code for i acquires those lost
features.

And,
I'm really pissed off with IBM - they should have known better.
