In regard to the 5250 vs browser-user-interface debate, I can share a link
to a web interface that we use for viewing documentation about our IBM i
web applications.
Information Center <
http://rd.radile.com/rdweb/documentation/home.html>
Those web pages show mostly GUI snippets while describing how to use our
applications, but there are a few full-screen shots. The reason to move
away from 5250 is because it's too constraining. Even the documentation
site uses browser user interfaces. Imagine how clunky the Information Center
<
http://rd.radile.com/rdweb/documentation/home.html> would be if it were a
5250 interface instead of a browser user interface.
These are the types of applications that make IBM i have a future.
