There is another thing. IBM has obsoleted the 5250 by stopping enhancements to it. The newest bifs are "errors" when you're using it to develop. There's a signal for you. We can still code for the users, IBM isn't so crazy as to block its use. At some point, this hole in the dike is going to start gushing.
