SDA had to change to accept RPG IV, C, ILE COBOL, etc, SDA just went on eating DDS whoich didn't change that much.

Uhm. Your first "SDA" meant to be "SEU", yes?

Syntax checking and prompting was implemented for RPG III and IV. Not sure how much COBOL support was implemented besides "this has to go to B intentation level", and similar. There is no special handling of C code, at least in V4R5. SEU handles it just like text.

I wonder if IBM has joined internal forces for SEU and the z/OS ISPF editor somehow.

When I was first there everything was compiled on mainframes and the resulting code stream downloaded. I _think_ more in the way of OS builds started being done on AIX around the time the hardware converged.

Sorry, you are correct. I meant "mainframes" and wrote "AIX" for reasons beyond me.

:wq! PoC
