If the csr (certificate signing request) was not generated using dcm then
you will need the certificate in pkcs7 or similar format that incudes both
the private and public keys.
ASAIK this requires the file to have a password.
I am surprised that you are not being prompted for a password when you are
trying to import the certificate.
I would suggest you ask whoever supplied the certificate to re-export in a
format that has both keys and apply a password.
The other option would be to use openssl to work with what you have.

Subject: Import certificate : Error A cryptographic error occurred
Hi all
I'm try to import a Server / Client certificate in DCM, but i receive the
error : "A cryptographic error occurred".
The person that created the certificate told me that the certificate has
not password .. question: for import the certificate on IBM i, the
password is mandatory or Not ?
As the error message is very generic , how could have a detailed cause to
better understand which could be the problem .
N.B. the certificate is .PFX format
Thanks in advance
Gio
