Not an expert but that's what I do:If I need to "single PTFing" for very particular cases and nasty bugs which IBM techs provided a fix for my support request, just look at the requirements of the PTF in DSPPTF it would clearly state if immediate or deferred at IPL.Otherwise if not in a rush for general refresh I plan a window but I do all-ptf-groups with application at IPL.If you need only the PTF for the http group is possible that you need to restart apache and stuff in an online system...

Then set up an IPL for the system, I'm thinking all the servers ended. So the PTF would then apply correctly?
Here's an example for PTF SJ06984, the special instructions say:
"End the QHTTPSVR subsystem before applying PTF."
Am I correct that an IPL effectively ends the subsystem?
