Always the way, you post the question after much searching.

Then I reworded my search.

This solved my problem.

before connecting to your server, use the right click option on the server
and 'reload and connect'

Subject: VS Code - enabling the 5250 terminal

Hi All

I am trying to use the 5250 terminal inside VSCode.

I have used ACS to download and install tn5250 and have verified it is
installed.

-bash-5.2$ which tn5250
/QOpenSys/pkgs/bin/tn5250

I am connecting to a V7R4 machine that is shortly to be retired and may be
10 months behind on ptf's - could that be my problem ?

When I select terminals ==> 5250 I get the error
5250 terminal is not supported. Please install tn5250 via yum on the
remote system.

I tried adding the following to the settings.json
"code-for-ibmi.tn5250.path": "/QOpenSys/pkgs/bin/tn5250"

But that made no difference,

Hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction please.

Thanks
Don
