By the way, I Doug Adams on the David Letterman show many years
ago...probably late eighties, early 90's. He told Letterman a hilarious
story about waiting in the train station (true story...probably embellished
somewhat).

Doug said that he bought a newspaper or magazine and some cookies and sat
down at a table. Being a crowded day, another traveler (with either a
newspaper or a magazine) sat down at his table.

Doug said that he was taken aback when the other traveler picked up HIS
(Adams') cookies, opened them, and ate one. He figured that if he didn't
act fast the guy was going to eat all of his cookies, so Doug ate one. They
alternated, finishing the package of cookies. Doug said he couldn't believe
the nerve of the guy, eating HIS (Adams') cookies.

Then the other guy got up and left, taking his newspaper. Under the
newspaper were Adams' cookies. So the joke was really on the other guy...

To hear Doug Adams tell this story was delightful, perfectly in character
for him. I would love to have a copy of this Letterman show...
