It's a nice thought but Apple supplying huge numbers of systems to
schools didn't really up their market share. So having people work with
tech at one stage of their career doesn't necessarily translate into
lifetime adoption.

I don't know, it seems to me it probably kept Apple from dropping off
the face of the earth. Those who didn't have to use MS/IBM at work
kept their macs.
