True enough Walden, but I solved it another way: Not installing the MS
software is another way to avoid the Microsoft virus issues. I don't use
Microsoft software other than the operating system. 
 
I've said NO to Outlook, IE, Word, Excel, and more. That is way easier than
trying to keep up with the patch of the day from Microsoft and a whole lot
safer. 
 
In all my years I have only had one disabling attack. The Sircam virus, and
that was on a PC where the client required a full suite of MS software. On
my own machines I've never been bitten.

If people had applied patches when MS released them CodeRed
and Nimda would have been a minor annoyance.
