I cannot access my old address book through Netscape nor can I find the one that is now available to me outside Netscape. I have copied my old .nab file to what I believe to be the correct place but Netscape ignores it. I have added a record to the new address book and searched for files/folders changed with the same date/time but cannot see anything that has changed. I even tried creating a second Netscape email account but that gives me access to the same address book as the first account.

There is an import facility for addresses but this only works for earlier versions of Netscape

Has anyone any idea how to solve this problem or where I might find the answer?

I had a similar (I think) problem at home with Netscape a year or so ago. The desktop at home is XP Pro. I had 5 users set up in Netscape (me, wife, 3 boys). For inexplicable reasons, I would from time to time lose everything in Netscape. Address book, message filters, inbox subfolders, you name it. Each time I had to set up my account all over again. From scratch. I would try to copy the .nab file in with no luck. When stuff like that starts happening to your _wife_ you're in REAL trouble. <g> I finally gave up and switched to Outlook and IE at home on the desktop. The laptop at home and my desktop at work (both W2K) work flawlessly with Netscape, even though the laptop also has all 5 users set up. Must be something to do with XP Pro but I sure don't know what.

Sorry that this is no help.

P.S. I use Netscape because it is not a Microsoft product.

Same here.
