"I assume Back Button is still visable?" Thanks for responding. Yes, it is
still visible and it "depresses" when I click on it but nothing happens.

"have you tried hitting F11 to see if the back button works in full screen
mode?" Yep, and it doesn't.

"With the cursor focus on the window in Internet explorer does your Backspace
key work?" nor does the backspace key.

"There is a MS download to "correct & repair", I am not sure it is available
for 6, would have to check." I have checked around the MS site but haven't
found a "correct & repair (for any version)

"I am also guessing that your using XP." I guess I didn't specify - no, using
W2K.

"It's easy enough to install an Activex control" Yes, I checked the ActiveX
controls - there are only 3 - all of which have been on the machine at least 6
months (problem started last week).

I forgot to add that, since the back button was disabled, I have begun getting
IE "out of memory at line xx" errors. This leads me to believe that it is some
kind of script.

Thanks,
Steve
