Star Office 7.0 is pretty stable, is downloadable for a trial version, and
is $80 to buy if you like it. 
 
It reads MS-anything and saves pretty well to MS layouts. I've been using
Star Office on Windows for a couple of years and have been quite happy with
the results. My needs are simple although I need more than MSWorks offers.

I think I will stick with OpenOffice. I have started using here as primary
package (I still have Office) just to see if it can replace Office with the
functions I use. I can update you guys as I go. If fact I will just put it
on my weblog (http://www.koldark.net)

Am I the only one that sees a problem with MS Office pricing?
 
Upgrading this one suite costs as much as an entry level PC?
 
Hmmm....Let me guess, no one is upgrading anymore and we are all going to
