We've a few of the Dell ones ( seen here: http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/compare.aspx/optix?c=us&cs=555& l=en&s=biz ). They work fine but are highly proprietary and don't take standard parts if something breaks. Also, for a while we had issues with power supplies. I guess it's been worked out by now as I haven't heard of any problems lately. Why not just get a notebook? My notebook has everything you mention + USB, Firewire, floppy, 1GB RAM, video out, dual-monitor support (LCD + external), etc. -----Original Message----- From: Jeff Crosby [mailto:jlcrosby@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, November 12, 2003 9:01 AM To: PC Technical Discussion for iSeries Users Subject: [PCTECH] Small factor desktops We have a couple of office users we want to give PCs to, and space is a factor. I've seen pictures of PC's where the whole thing (save the screen) is in the keyboard. Asus has a series that look like notebooks but are really 'portable desktops' that take PCMCIA cards, etc. I'm looking for fully functional PC's with a DVD/CD combo, network, probably an LCD for space, etc. Have any of you tried any of these or similar animals? Thanks. -- Jeff Crosby Dilgard Frozen Foods, Inc. P.O. Box 13369 Ft. Wayne, IN 46868-3369 260-422-7531 The opinions expressed are my own and not necessarily the opinion of my company.
