Where's that duct tape when you really need it . . .

I have an XP desktop and W2K laptop at home with a Linksys firewall/router.
I have shared directories both ways with no luck. It used to work minths
ago.

I have shared the printer from the XP machine with no luck. It too worked
many month ago.

They are in the same workgroup.

If I expand My Network Places I can see the other machine (both directions)
without a search but I cannot _access_ the other machine at all (either
direction). I have the same username and password on both machines, as an
administrator.

The XP is 192.168.1.100. The W2K is 192.168.1.101. They cannot even _ping_
each other. I have been through all the networking stuff on MS site. I
have tried everything that has been discussed here for months. I have no
idea what is wrong.

My head is going to explode.
