Well, it *does* work, but it isn't a template. As an .xls, you'd always
have to do a Save As, change to your folder, etc. I didn't really want to
have to remember to always explicitly do a Save As when I created a new
file. As an .xlt, when I create a new file and go to save, it forces you to
the Save As dialog box and defaults to the folder set up in the Options.

Yep. Works in Excel 2000 as well! This is great stuff, even if it is
pretty well hidden.

OK, will look for that one.

I have that option and it is checked. Still getting the warning, though.
Also, I am unable to specify individual "trusted sources", even when the
"Trust all" box is unchecked. Doesn't "Trust all" make you vulnerable? How
is that any different than setting the security level to Low? (My security
level is set to Medium. The dialog shows "No virus scanner installed" when,
in fact, I have Symantec Corporate Edition AV client installed, and all the
realtime protections are enabled; are there special scanners for Excel
macros?)

Thanks again!
Dan
