I think we are all on the same page.

No "router" between the DSL/Cable mode and IPCop.

IpCop is the router.  Eg: It is what moves packets from the internal network
and the external one (eg: The Internet).

But you do need a Hub or Switch to connect the other machines together with
IP Cop.  

*IF* it is possible to turn the "router" and "firewall" pieces of the
Gigabyte box off, then you probably could use it as the switch.  But if
either of these pieces remains active in this config, it will cause you
headaches!

You can get a brand new hub from CompUSA for $27 .  Spend a few dollars more
and you've got a 10/100 auto sensing Switch for $40

For the money, I'd get the switch.  Much better and darned near the same

When sizing, you'll need 1 port for the IPCop box, and then a port for each
additional device.
