You should be able to import (not link) a table into Access via ODBC. The user would have to go into Access (or create a icon) that would update the table. I would think that you could even use the windows scheduler. The Access table is a copy of your live data and not linked to the live data. We did something similar with our first web enablement of our data. I just tried something that I should have done before I sent the last post. I created a link to an Excel spreadsheet, and linked it to an existing Access table. This is not an ODBC link, but just choosing the .xls file from the Link dialog box. This *replaces* the table, and creates a new table with column names F1, F2, F3, etc. I think we need to retain the original column names. This is being used display selected data on a web page. tia, db -- This is the PC Technical Discussion for iSeries Users (PcTech) mailing list To post a message email: PcTech@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/pctech or email: PcTech-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/pctech.
