Peter, I recently switched to Firefox based on recommendations from a coworker. I really like it a lot and have switched my children's pc to it as well. I did have a few web site issues though. 1. Microsoft windows update web pages don't like Firefox. Wonder why? :-) 2. The IBM publications site would crash Firefox until I updated my Java environment. It was specifically listed on their site as a known issue. Works fine now. 3. One of the options from my bank web site doesn't open properly. I think it may have more to do with the site than Firefox because it behaves oddly in IE as well. I have to use IE when I need this functionality. Can anybody confirm that these alternatives are indeed as good (if not better) as the M$ products, and that all settings, mails, cookies, rules and so forth are taken over as they are now. The built-in RSS reader seems very interesting. For fighting spam, I now use K9, but I noticed that Thunderbird also has built-in spam control. Has anybody tried this, and is willing to share his/her experience? If the programs prove to be as good, I'm considering switching not only my own, but also both the kids' pc's, provided there's a version in Dutch of course. Thanks in advance.
