Hi Dan,

Browsing this side made me more and more convinced that I need to find a
replacement for Ghost?

It also lead me to these sites :
1) http://www.diydatarecovery.nl
Using this Demo-tool showed me exactly what was going on.
Resolving the problem however was not allowed without registration.

2) http://www.goodells.net/multiboot/ptedit.htm
This site explained the MBR in detail
and the usage of PowerQuest's Partition Table Editor (ptedit.exe)

Not having a lot of confidence in Partition Magic,
I booted in DOS and used this PTEDIT
Blanked out the FAT32-entry from Ghost and rebooted in WinXP.
The Diskmanager now showed the correct disk size with one partition
as it used to be !

Removed the Virtual partition-file that Ghost has created in C:\
Finally I uninstalled Ghost 2003 on both of my PC's.

So you may not have giving me the answer, you certainly lead me to it !

Many thanks for the input,

Chris
