I'd say it depends on the keylogging technology.  If it's a physical
logger that would be true; the keyboard would plug in to the logger & it
in to the PC so it could intercept everything typed.

For a software-only logger, it depends.  If it's monitoring keystrokes
then the same applies.  However, if it's monitoring the APIs used to
send text to apps (data entry fields, for instance) then it could still
grab virtually everything.  And if it's a broweser add-in, it would
easily capture everything entered in text fields in your browser.
Regardless of it being a cut-n-paste or direct entry.
