Did a google for "domino sorting subject". Looks like the option is added in release 7. Sorry. Ideally, a copy of the mail template is created. This copy is then changed and well documented. All user's mail files are based on this copy. not the original one from Lotus. When a new version of the mail template comes out, it can be decided at that time if any changes in it are needed. I have been out of Notes development for a couple of years and am going off the top of my head.

Scott,I'm on 6.5.4. There's a Notes developer who sits right next to me who said it was a 5 minute job to give me a sorting function. But I'm only the 6th user (all M.I.S. staff) to be migrated to Notes so management is not inclined to make any individual changes right now.Down the road, this would be an individual change? Our network admin is under the impression that the change I'm requesting would be done on a server template, but the template would be overwritten when applying upgrades. How problematic are individual changes vs. template changes with regards to upgrades of Notes? Can admins who are not developers perform template changes easily? I assume a non-developer cannot make individual file changes. Thanks, Bryan Burns ECHO, IncorporatedLake Zurich, Illinois
