Jack,

I think you just need the Oriental fonts.  I've received several 
spreadsheets containing Western text and Chinese ideograms (I think), and 
my PC has no Oriental software on it as far as I know.

What software is needed to display Oriental characters on a spreadsheet

can you have a spreadsheet that shows both Oriental and US English
