You're not old enough to have a kid in college..... :-)) What does the school recommend? So many colleges now have their own laptop programs. The school my son is signing with today requires that the student goes thru them for the machine. That way, they can provide consistent support, get better pricing, etc. Here's that school's link: http://www.winona.edu/its/laptop/ As for the chip manufacturer, I don't think it makes a difference.
