McAfee Enterprise for AV and probably shortly for anti-spyware as their
AS detection is a snap-in to the AV app. The crappy Windows internal
firewall at the moment is sufficing, although I hope to get something a
little more industrial in the future.

Haven't I heard that McAfee home products are crap? Even though I could get
McAfee or Norton AV F.A.R., I've avoided them like the plague for the past
few years. I have the personal experience with Norton AV, but only
anecdotal evidence on McAfee. But their enterprise AV product is good, eh?

At home I use the free version of Grisoft AVG for AV and nothing for a
firewall, although I'm contemplating the Kerio suite as I already use
Sunbelt's CounterSpy anti spyware app.

Of all people, I guess I'm surprised that you don't have a firewall at
home. Are you using a router firewall and not any software firewall?

(If anyone can suggest a replacement for Microsoft's Wireless
Network Connection app, which is a total POS, please advise.)

Subscribe to Brian Livingston's Windows Secrets newsletter:
https://windowssecrets.com/info/ . I think he mentioned a tool in a
back issue. Normally, you're stuck with Window's built-in app or one
that comes with the WiFi card but I think there may be 1 or 2 3rd party
tools out there.

I already subscribe, although I'm behind several issues. I'll have to look
it up. I wonder if Fred Langa has covered this too.

WGA has been known to disable legit XP installs.

????? Oh, wait, that's right. This is Microsoft we're talking about here.
