I think this is probably more PC related than midrange so I'm posting here
instead of midrange.com. I'm in the process of setting up a new laptop
running Windows XP. I've got almost everything ready but I'm having
trouble mapping drives to our 570 and 270 boxes. I've never had any
problems doing this under Windows 2000 but this is my first XP work PC with
client/access.

I open Windows Explorer, click on Tools, then Map Network Drive. I then
select the drive letter and for the folder I put \\system-name\Root and
click "finish". It takes a few seconds telling me that it's attempting to
connect. I'm then given a "connect to system-name" dialog box. It asks
for my user name and password. I enter my AS/400 user-id and password.
Both boxes are blank before I enter anything but when I press the enter key
it immediately comes back with the same dialog box but this time my user-id
is prefixed with our domain name and a backslash. Any ideas?
