Does your state have a "public services commission"?  In Michigan, they
regulate utilities (not sure if cable companies fall in that category).  But
there might be some regulatory agency in your state that can "turn screws"
on your behalf.

Must have been a Kodak moment when they told you it would cost 49g's, eh?
