The spammer isn't going to get the response ... the from address has
been spoofed (in 99% of the cases), so innocent person will simply get a
confirmation that your email address is valid.

To further qualify my question, I just found it odd that an email I
never opened but deleted cause their server to fire off another. But I
did go buy a lotto ticket that day. It has not happened in quite a
while. I did have the "do not respond" set in MS outlook...Those are
mistakes we just don't want to make and keep the same email. But I
don't trust outlook as far as I can throw it.
And the email itself was more like targeted marketing (iSeries
something) I think, so I guess it really was not "bulk spam" in the
sense we usually think about it.
