we yanks call it the master bedroom too, Peter. I've never heard it called the parents room. right now, my bedroom is my office too, and it's becoming untenable. two crappy desks, an old iseries that hasn't been turned on in a year, two pcs and all that cable/router stuff too. I only have a 2 bedroom home, so I'm converting the 'guest' bedroom into an office. My son stays here 2 nights every 2 weeks, and he sleeps on a futon, which will still be there. You guys are so lucky to have the space to make your home office. I'm forced to have my pc, server, cable modem, wireless router/switch etc in the master bedroom (that's how I think you Yanks call the parents' bedroom, right?).
