anything ideas you wish you'd done in your SOHO

Wish#1: put it upstairs (an inconvenient place). Over garage sounds
like a good choice. Guess what happens when office is also in the
place you might want to greet a client? It is also convenient for all
to come grab the scissors, paper, quick recipe look-up you name it. Is
there a way to stop this?

Wish #2: Probably try to build shelves and desktop integrated with
walls (this is a little dreamy, not sure about it) The down side is it
will never qualify as a bedroom if on the market. I completely shelved
my closet with multi sized storage drawers and spaces. Still would
like a closet light. I have my work area enclosed with 2 desks, 1
U-shape and 1 regular making a 360. This arrangement and the BEST
chair for yourself seems to have worked for me for years. Carpet was
original choice for pricing reasons but not office friendly and
replacing with hardwoods and a good mat.

What I did right:
#1) Ceiling fan. It is always the warmest room in the house if not
freezing outside.
I did not add extra ventilation and should have. LCD's saved me on heat.
#2) restroom for long meetings.
#3) assuming you never know if wireless or wire will be the way of the
future for whatever reason, every room has outlets wired via the box
shown here:

I personally have shifted to wireless because it is convenient. My
intent of house wiring was intercom and all media someday managed from
any room or remote. But much easier to wire in advance than
afterwards.
Here is some info that may help.
