Wow. Thanks for taking the time to share that extensive experience with us,
Mark! Firewalls, AV & anti -spyware are those type of things I need to rely
on third parties, especially the mags to review and recommend.

Gradually I am shifting everything from MS, i.e.; using Thunderbird
and online when practical. The last time I loaded Linux, the desktop
was just too clumsy to turn loose on the family, but that was a few
years back. In a funny sense, I have extremely demanding clients in
"my family".

I gotta say, I had my first look at a Linux desktop in the form of Ubuntu a
few weeks ago. It looks really sharp, I played a few games but that was
it. You can download the ISO from ubuntu.com. Heck, you can even order the
CDs for free, as in absolutely free, no shipping. I got the "3-pack" which
included one cd each for Macintosh, 32-bit Intel, and 64-bit Intel. I am
trying to piece together a box on which I hope to install it. (I ran the
boot-from-CD on my main WinXP PC, really nice.)

I like prompting for third party cookies, I hate being tracked, anyone
else stuck on this decision?
I would also be interested if anyone else has familly requirements of
allowing program popcaploader to exist where all these tools say it it
is a really bad idea....

Um, sorry, dumb question, but what is a popcaploader?
