Dan,

When my youngest son got his own new PC 1 and a half years ago, the old
one (P2 350MHz) was transformed into a server.

I stuck in 2 network cards, 2 HD's of 20GB each and 320MB of Ram.

Then I installed ClarkConnect on it (freebie Home version, can be
downloaded from http://www.clarkconnect.com ).

It's an all-in-one linux distro which comprises all what I mentioned
below, plus many more things (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP server, you name it).

And it's very newbie-friendly: it took me less than an hour to be up and
running.

I'm in no way affiliated with ClarkConnect, just a happy user.

Peter, what are you using for this, and for how long now?
