I would go with a wired connection. You can run it yourself. That's what
we did. I also did this kind of thing when we remodeled our last house. I
put all power, telephone and cable lines underground to eliminate problems
related to tree limbs.

Call Julie or whatever the utility line locator service is called in your
area. Have them ensure that there are no underground obstacles between the
two buildings.
Go rent a trencher to cut a 2 to 4 foot trench between the buildings. If
you guys are not spring chickens, get one you sit on while it digs.
Otherwise the walk behind models are fine. You can make it a youth group
project. Hopefully, it will be a straight run between the buildings.
Buy enough 3 inch PVC pipe to run between the buildings. You will also
need elbows for coming back up out of the ground and for connecting to the
buildings.
Install ethernet, co-ax, and telephone wire in the tube so you're ready
for all possibilities. Don't forget a couple extra lengths of telephone
wire to use for fishing anything you may have forgotten after you bury the
tube
Make all the connections and test them.
Fill in the trench and throw down some grass seed.
