For photo's I find .jpeg is the better format for general use.
Whatever is best for you really as photo's can take up a lot of space.
If you want to manipulate with a photo package (photoshop) they may require
a different type format, .bmp/.tif or other.
If you have specific Album software they may have their own desired format.
