Why not redeem it and then you will have a copy should you ever decide to 
use it?  ...or does redeeming it invalidate your copy of XP?  Personally, 
I typically wait until the first service pack is out before going to the 
next version of Windows but at least this will give you some options.  It 
also seems to be the case that with each new release of Windows the 
hardware requirements get bumped up.  Right now I have no compelling 
reason to leave XP and I don't want to part with the $$$ for a new 
motherboard, processor, memory and a bigger hard drive.  Still, if I had a 
coupon to get a free or $10 copy of Vista I'd send it in as long as I 
could keep running XP.
