His user setup is fine so it may well be that the Documents and Settings
directory got hosed...

Log in as Administrator & Manage Computer. Check his user enrollment.

Also do a CHKDSK /F.

Beyond that, I couldn't say. I've not encountered that issue before.
Maybe Walden or another of the MS gurus will have an idea.
