You could use something like mailbigfile.com to upload the file to a
server and send a link, without having to install any software.
mailbigfile.com has a 100MB limit, or 2GB with a $20/yr account. There
are other alternatives as well.

Yes. Thanks for the links too. I'll take a look at those. I did see some
stuff about cygwin in my own research.

This won't be anything fancy, just a way for the wife & daughter to swap
movies of the grandbaby since they tend to get rather large and our isp
blocks anything over 10mb. But I do want security involved because we
house our website on the same server, and also use it as our backup target
system for our desktops.

Thanks for the response. I'm looking forward to toying with products from
your links. I know you're an MKS guy too but at this point we're looking
for 'cost-effective' (ie free) solutions.
