Vista requires an expensive version to be allowed to be virtualized,

plus you need a lot of memory to do this.

Is Vista Business sufficient? I have 4GB of memory, and a Q6700 cpu (quad
core at 2.66GHz each).

But basically it helps a lot to be able to use a lot of operating
systems on the same machine to be able to check your application on all
these.

That would be the reason for doing it. I'm not ready for Vista as my
primary OS yet.
