I don't recall where the keyboard came from. Unfortunately, she's
self-employed (long term contract) or I'd have her pass this to the IT
department. In this case, it's me. <vbg>

I tried several remapping software programs. The problem is that even
though there are 106 keys on the keyboard, the keyboard mapping programs
only "see" 105 keys. We contacted the keyboard manufacturer and they
confirmed that the split space bar cannot be programmed separately.

You may also consider searching for 3rd-party software that will let you
remap any keyboard. Here's one that I found with a quick Google search
for "keyboard remap open source":
