Two thoughts. One - reinstall the camera, then immediately install it again. Also, look for driver updates on the web. Second - Is it a USB device? If so, install it in a different USB port, on the other side of the machine if possible.
I know, I know. Stupid ideas. Sorry. Best I can come up with. :)
