it didn't do that before the upgrade to 3.

Also, I tried with only 1 tab open, and it did the same (so I guess that's not the cause).

I think I'll run another virus check in safe mode tonight...

I've had it do the same thing with 2GB RAM and 40+ tabs open. Tabs seem
to
be what causes the problem for me. I close it down and it takes awhile
to
drop out of task manager but eventually it does. I've seen this
behavior
with Firefox for over a year and through several different revs. It
seems
like it has an issue with memory management that they have yet to get a
handle on.
